We had a great time visiting family in Utah this past week! I met my new niece, Kennady Mae Decker. She was born on February 5th, 2009.  Their household was ready for some femininity genes.  She is darling and she will be spoiled I'm sure!! Girls are supposed to be spoiled!
We stayed with Craig's mother. The reason for our trip in the middle of February was so that Seth could see everyone he hasn't seen since he got back from his mission.  Unfortunately, Wendy and Abbey had quite abit of homework to catch up on!  Skiing, Homework, it's a toss up, right?  We had some very winter weather, at least a foot of powder, and some great sunny weather to ski in.  Singstar seems to be one of our new family favorites.  We played with the Wright family the first night we arrived.  It was fun to meet Natalie's fiance, John and Jason's fiance, Dana.  They are great singers!
Grandma Roberts took us to lunch, she loves us. Scott and Kathie had us over for dinner and we celebrated Nick's Birthday and watched Ratatouille in their new cinema room.  Awesome! We drove up to Logan to have dinner with Ronda and Mike.  We saw their new remodel and experienced their new theatre set-up.  Seth thinks technology really sped up while he was gone. He can't believe everyone has flat screens and Projectors now.  We are extremely spoiled aren't we?
We did have one small mishap on the way home from Ronda's.  A sheriffs car passed us on the freeway and kicked up a rock and blew out a hole in the drivers side back window.  Seth was sitting there peacefully and then, pow!  We stopped at a gas station and tried to temporarily fix it with some cardboard.  It looked real classy!!!  Too bad we couldn't give that sheriff a ticket! We luckily got it fixed before we drove back to California, but Seth had to hold the cardboard in, on the way home from skiing, so that it wouldn't get sucked out.  He even cut his finger. No bandaid was required!  He's tough!

Visiting in New York!

Seth, my brother Steve, and I had the opportunity to visit Elder and Sister Decker (ie. Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa) this past week.  We battled the freezing cold weather!  Seth was especially cold coming from tropical weather so recently.  We had a great time visiting all the church sites and meeting many wonderful people that work with my parents.
We hit the Syracuse scene a few days and saw the family.  Thank you to Tara and Brian for our wonderful accommodations.  We had alot of fun playing with the kids and going through pictures. It was a hard task but Tara even did a photo shoot of Seth.   He tends to make alot of funny faces when he is posing for pictures. We loved going through all the little towns and finding antique stores to reminisce in.  We have seen enough old stuff to last us for another year or so.
My mother broke her wrist on Saturday the 31st of January.  The seat of a piece of exercise equipment at her parents house gave way and she fell trying to catch herself with her hand.  It was her right wrist.  She wasn't even exercising, just sitting there. How is she going to write, paint, do dishes, curl her hair?  Since she is responsible the doctor let her wear a soft cast that she can take off to take a shower.  She is very grateful.
I visited my good friend Randy Allen.  We knew each other in highschool and still keep in touch.  That was almost 27 years ago! Wow! Time Flies!
We played the domino game Mexican train!  Way fun!  We laughed and laughed.  I even caught a few pictures of Steve wearing an apron and holding a purse!!! (Ok, so he was helping Mom)  I love going to New York!  Now we have to get some of those New Yorkers to come visit us in California.
